IDEMIA, the leading biometric solutions provider for state and local agencies, announced today that the State of South Carolina, through the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, has awarded the company a seven-year contract to support fingerprint capture for a wide range of state services which require individuals undergo a criminal background check.
IDEMIA’s contract covers electronic fingerprinting services to qualified agencies, organizations, or individuals for non-criminal justice licensing, employment purposes or for volunteer positions in accordance with federal and South Carolina laws that require criminal background checks. The technology will also support the concealed weapon permit application process.
