Facial Recognition Training

Automated face recognition systems are common in both law enforcement and civil applications, yet training for reviewers has not kept pace with the scope of facial images available from public and private sources. IDEMIA offers forensic face training to train and keep examiners’ skills up-to-date with best practices and knowledge on facial recognition.

The Forensic Face Training is a technology-agnostic program exploring topics like image science and processing, principles of photographic comparison, and reporting guidelines. It helps examiners improve their skills in both facial review (one-to-many) and facial identification (one-to-one) scenarios, and gain new insight into facial anatomy, dermatology, aging and facial alteration.

Selfie Checks

Selfie Checks provide fast registration and online authentication for individuals and organizations needing to quickly verify someone’s identity. IDEMIA’s devised solution, Selfie Check, uses your phone’s camera and facial recognition software to verify that it is indeed the owner who is holding the phone. At which point access is granted. When asking for authentication, IDEMIA’s innovative software solution  will ask you to authenticate your identity by moving your head to the left, right or downwards; or a combination of the three. By requesting random head movements, the selfie-check ensures that the user is a real and a live person and not just a still image. Users can now remotely and securely confirm their identity against a central biometric database or against an identity document, e.g. a passport from virtually anywhere.

Augmented Vision

Today everywhere you go, there are cameras being used via CCTV streams, smartphones and more. This leaves a huge amount of digital data to go through when needed for law enforcement or for other reasons. Augmented Vision helps sense of all this available data, while protecting citizens’ and consumers’ privacy with the highest level of data protection.

Augmented Vision can be used to prevent security incidents in highly frequented public or private spaces, but also to ensure frictionless access to restricted areas. It can also interpret and tag hours and days of video streams and thousands of photos to help find subjects and objects of interest in post-event investigations. This powerful video analytics solution can be set up for three main applications.

Face Expert

Face Expert can help law enforcement place a name to a face by enabling trained forensic investigators, analysts, and detectives to solve crimes thanks to automatic face finding and tracking of photos or videos. Faces from images or videos can be matched against a database to identify a wanted or missing person. Once facial images are matched, analysts can link a suspect to a crime. The application provides the ability to navigate within the database to capitalize on information from previous searches. It can also help match recently booked offenders with unsolved cases.

Easy to use and powerful, the system enables users to deal with cases using still images, videos, and difficult to process images. Its 3D modeling tool reconstructs a facial image from multiple partial views, while the image processing enhances poor quality pictures and non-frontal views.

MFACE™ Flex

MFACE Flex is a frictionless facial biometrics solution that streamlines the experience of individuals at high traffic locations, including airports, sports arenas, theme parks, and other event venues where a high volume of traffic is expected. MFACE Flex is capable of recognizing multiple faces in industry-leading time without requiring individuals to stop, touch, or interact with the identification system. Because the MFACE Flex solution allows individuals to keep moving throughout the identification process, the solution is especially effective for the secure and efficient processing of large groups. By design, MFACE Flex minimizes deployment cost by eliminating the need of specialized biometric capture equipment and increases customer’s ROI with the flexibility of reusing existing infrastructure wherever possible.

Ranked #1 for Accuracy

IDEMIA’s facial recognition 1:N algorithm achieved best for accuracy in the latest Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

NIST’s March 26, 2021 test results establish beyond all doubt that IDEMIA has the best identification system on the market. Taking border control systems as an example, IDEMIA achieved the best accuracy score of 99.65% correct matches out of 1.6 million face images.
